In the context of an SPV, a distribution refers to the allocation of capital gains and income from a portfolio company to the SPV investors. SPVs receive distributions from assets, such as portfolio company investments, and subsequently make pro rata distributions to their investors. Distributions may include payments of interest, principal, or dividends on a regular basis, or may occur as part of a liquidity event.
